2015 Fort Foster Rendezvous

Fort Foster was a fort in central Florida, located 9 miles (5.6 km) south of current-day Zephyrhills in Pasco County. It was built in December 1836 under the direction of Lt. Col. William S. Foster on the site of Fort Alabama. A replica of the fort was constructed at the site by the state, and it is owned and operated by the Florida State Park system. It is in the Hillsborough River State Park. February 14 and 15 of 2015, members of Florida Frontiersmen assisted Fort personnel in their Rendezvous.

2015 Colonial Night Watch

Hundreds of re-enactors from St. Augustine’s Colonial History perform military drills and cannon and musket firing in St. Augustine on Saturday, December 5, 2015 on the grounds of the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument. The Fife and Drum will raised colors and there was a change of Flags Ceremony commemorating the event in 1763 when Florida changed from Spanish to British hands. Reenactors from both countries (traditionally enemies) and their militias as well as Native Americans joined together in peace on this commencement of the Holiday Season.

A torchlight parade started at the Castillo at 7PM, and marched to the City Gates where the Public was invited to follow along to the Government house where Nancy Shaver, Mayor of St. Augustine welcomed those assembled. After the troops  fired  Volleys of Joy from their muskets, the units were dismissed and those left in attendance were invited to sing along in some old tyme Christmas Carols.

This is a video from a production TV Company of the parade Saturday evening. Your East Florida Frontier Rangers were proudly in attendance.

2007 Dove Shoot

We call this format our "Mini Rendezvous." It is a summer event for just a weekend to help those who need a mid-year fix for their rendezvous fever.  No one really shoots doves.  There is, however, some friendly competition among campers.  There is great food and fellowship.

The Mini Rendezvous was the Brain Child of Diane Capp. She and her husband Ronnie put the whole thing together. Her thoughts were that we have this property we all have all this rendezvous camping stuff...we might as well use them more than once a year.

Diane and Ronnie were fairly new at rendezvous and they were surprised at the first Alafia at what all they needed to learn. Of course the best way to learn is by doing and her idea of having a mini rendezvous was that new members would have a chance to learn in a rendezvous environment.
