The Florida Frontiersmen, Inc. is a private club, originally founded in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1972. Our purpose is to preserve the skills of our first settlers, pioneers, and mountain men in their use of muzzle loading firearms and the equipment and accouterments that accompanied such use. We maintain high standards of safety, sportsmanship, and good fellowship, together with historical appreciation of the era and equipment. The Frontiersmen are organized as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) in the State of Florida.

Principle club activities include meeting monthly for black powder competitive events, educational seminars and fellowship. The Florida Frontiersmen host one of the largest pre-1840 living history events in the U.S. each January known as the Alafia River Rendezvous. Club members also volunteer throughout our local communities to assist in education of 18th century lifestyle.
