Bob Samson on docent duty

Thursday during Rendezvous, we host 1,400+ school children and their chaperones for a day of fun and education.  Numerous demonstration take place emphasizing early American history.  If we expect our next generation to love the rendezvous as much as we do, we need to take the time to pass on the history.  We need to “Bridge the Gap with our Ancestors.” As a docent, you are asked to commit two hours and lead a property tour.  We provide maps, indicating where all of the demonstrations are taking place and clearly mark the areas with corresponding map numbers, sticks and feathers.  You can easily be an expert docent.

Please take time out of your rendezvous activities and consider volunteering as a docent.  Just email our school tour coordinator at: schooltours@floridafrontiersmen.com and give them your time preference, early mid-morning or late morning.  Enjoy the children, take time to learn a bit of history yourself.  Building lasting memories in our up and coming generation is a worthy endeavour.  Please sign up.
